Three accounting firms with roots in the Pacific Northwest and specifically Idaho have come together to expand on a vision.
For nearly 30 years, Harris, with offices throughout the state, has provided its clients with accounting services for all phases of business. Last year, the firm welcomed KDP and Chigbrow Ryan Murata, Chtd., and the three will now be known as Sorren, having rebranded this month.
According to a release provided by the company, it is a “top 50 accounting and advisory firm … rooted in local values, designed to better serve growing businesses and evolving industries.”
KDP was originally founded in 1976 and is based in Medford, Oregon, offering tax, audit, advisory, valuation and wealth services. It went through two mergers in 2021 with Boise-based Whittaker & Associates and in 2024 with Bend, Oregon-based Price Fronk & Co.
Chigbrow Ryan Murata began operating in 1985, having “merged with Harris in 2024 to expand its reach and capabilities,” the company stated.
“The Treasure Valley business community is growing more sophisticated and facing more complex challenges,” said Josh Tyree, president of Harris. “By coming together as Sorren, we’re strengthening our ability to meet those challenges with deeper expertise, expanded services and smarter solutions — all while staying rooted here in Idaho.”
Tyree will remain in the role of president under the Sorren brand, and the firm states it has 20 offices across the U.S. With the rebrand, the firm will also invest in innovation, technology and tools to increase its ability to better help clientele faster.
The firm’s new name combines the meaning of the phrases “coming together as one” and “master of craft,” it stated.
“We’ve always been proud to support Idaho’s business community,” said Windi Martin, Sorren’s partner-in-charge, overseeing offices in the Treasure Valley. “Now, we’re even better equipped to help it thrive. This isn’t just about growth for growth’s sake — it’s about combining our strengths to deliver smarter solutions, deeper insights and more strategic guidance, all without sacrificing the local relationships and personal service that our firm is built upon.”
